Fundraising News
Help us reach our annual fundraising goal!
o Save the Date: QAS GALA, February 1, 2025: Follow us on IG & Facebook for the latest information @QASGALA
We are welcoming all levels of sponsorship to help make this a successful school event for our kids! Sponsorship and auction information is attached, and information will be coming home with your children this week.
100% of the profits go back to the school and directly benefit your children.
o The success of this event relies on our generous sponsors and family support. Some much-needed upgrades will come to our school following this event.

o Poinsettia Sale: We will be having a poinsettia fundraiser this month. The fundraiser will benefit QAS and Saints and Angels preschool equally. Thank you for taking the time to support us! Please let all your family and friends know about this beautiful flower sale!

o The Community Value Books (PAC Fundraiser): were sent home today with the oldest child. The cost of the books is $35, sale runs for 2 weeks. Please send books and money (cash/cheque payable to QAS) back by Thursday, November 21st. IF YOU ARE NOT BUYING A BOOK PLEASE RETURN THE BOOK IN THE BAG.
o Walkathon Pledges: Final reminder if you haven’t already done so to send in pledges and money to the school office.
School News
o Remembrance Day Assembly: Will be on Friday, November 8th at 10:30am. We will be collecting $1 for the Royal Canadian Legion Charities; students will receive a poppy. Parents are welcome to attend.
o Fall Sports: Many of our teams have now completed their seasons. Athletes can return their jerseys to the office. Jerseys should be washed prior to handing in.
o Volleyball: Baker Drive Elementary, Coquitlam will be hosting a fun, mixed (boys/girls on one team) tournament on Wednesday, November 13th from 3:15 to 5:00p.m. All Grade 5 Boys and Girls and the Grade 4 Boys are invited to participate. This is a great way for our Boys to experience a game situation prior to the qualifying tournament. Also, for our Girls to finish off the season with some fun. If you can attend, please let Ms. Sandberg know before Friday, November 8th. The schedule will be released soon.
o Kindergarten 2025–2026: We are currently accepting applicants for next September’s class. Children must be born in 2020 (turn 5 years of age by Dec. 31, 2025). Applications may be found online on our website at: qasbc.ca or picked up at the school office. A completed application can be submitted via email to: [email protected] or dropped off at the QAS office. Interviews will begin in January.
According to our records, the following families have a sibling entering K next year: Achacoso, Azana, Chiu, Di Fluri, Loreto, Saliba, Wong and See. If your name does not appear on this list and you have a sibling, please let the office know as soon as possible.
o PEC Meeting – DATE CHANGE to November 21st: The PEC’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday November 21, 2024, at 7pm in the School Library. All parents are welcome to attend and observe the meeting. The PEC is responsible for governance in the areas of finance, school maintenance, fundraising and parent participation. If you have a topic for discussion or a question for PEC and would like to participate in the meeting, please send your request in writing a minimum of 7 days in advance of the meeting to [email protected] and [email protected].
o Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School Information Night: This is an information evening for Grade 6 and 7 parents. Mr. De Julius, Principal of Carney
will be at our school on Monday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in our library.
Parent Participation
o Book Fair Category Manager: Our Category Manager for the Book Fair (held in Spring and Fall each year) will be leaving the school after the 2025-26 school year. We are looking for a parent to start to train with the current category manager and take on this role long-term. If you’re interested in taking on this role, please contact [email protected].

Parish Information
Our Parish invites all families to join the following events:
o Friday Morning Coffee & Treats: Join us this Friday for the school Mass at 9:00am followed by a warm cup of coffee, sweet treats and great conversation in the parish hall.
o Save the Date | Nov 27th 6:30pm | Advent Wreath Making-Family Activity: Get ready to make this Advent season truly special with your children! As part of our ongoing work of parish school integration, this year the Advent Wreath making will be jointly collaborated by the school and the office of Young Family Faith Formation at the parish. The wreath making will take place on Wednesday, Nov 27th, 6:30pm until 7:30pm at the parish hall, and supplies will cost $15 per family. There will be hot chocolate with marshmallows for everyone to enjoy. To ensure your supplies are secured please click here to register and e-transfer $15 to [email protected]
