· Earthquake/Emergency Release Drill
On Thursday, October 9th at 2:15 p.m. we will be holding an earthquake drill. During this drill, we will be practicing our emergency release protocols. This means that staff and students will evacuate the building and gather on the gravel field.
We will have a station set up for parents to come and pick up their children, beginning at approximately 2:25 and up to 3:00 p.m. When you arrive, parents should head to the table and check in with the staff members. A staff member will then go and get the child(ren) and bring them to the parent. Parents are asked to not enter the gravel field area.
Families are asked to head straight home, once the child(ren) have been picked up. The playground will be closed after school on this day, so the drill can proceed.
If your child(ren) attends the afterschool care on this day, they will be released to the afterschool care team.
In addition, there is a “Student Emergency Release” form attached to today’s email. All families are asked to fill this our and return it to the office before September 26th. If someone other than the Parent or legal guardian picks up the child(ren), ID will be checked. Even if you plan on picking your child(ren) up on October 9th, we need you to return the form, as this will be kept on file in case of an emergency.
