Will we, or won’t we? This is the question surrounding talk about a possible return to in-school learning for the remainder of this school year. Like you, we just don’t know at this point. We will all have to stay tuned. When the information is given to us, you will be informed.
In the meantime, we are continuing with at-home learning. In meeting with the staff this week, through our grade level virtual meetings, our focus has been on how are the students/families doing? Overall, the teachers are impressed with the amount of work that is being accomplished. Families seem to be coping as best they can and developing routines to meet the needs of their children. Families are also reaching out when questions arise. Students are missing their friends. Staff miss being in the classroom. We all miss school as we know it. We understand that this situation is difficult for all. Please continue to reach out if needed.
The CISVA Principals continue to ask for clarification regarding year-end report cards for students. The only information that all schools have received thus far from the Ministry of Education, is that school is continuing and that there will be report cards. This term does matter. Students are responsible for the lessons that are being sent home. They are expected to put their full effort into all assignments and complete them.
So, we continue with at-home schooling until further notice…
Take care and be safe,
Joan Sandberg
