We continue to await word from the Public Health Officer, the Ministry of Education and the CISVA regarding the resumption of in class learning.
There is a lot of talk in the media as to when and what in class learning will be like. We also hear that it will be “voluntary”, and that remote learning will also continue. However, as I write this, there has been no official word and many questions yet to be addressed. Once, we get that information, you will be notified.
Our Intermediate Teacher’s meeting (Grades 4 to 7) this week was full of energy about the new learning that we have done as educators during this time. Many portals and resources have been discovered that teachers intend to keep as part of their teaching repertoire even when we can return to “normal”. There was excitement around the fact that our older students are displaying their innovation when completing assignments, the independence that students are showing, and how some of our normally quiet students are asking more questions and seem to be enjoying the conversations with their teachers. The teachers would also like to see more Chromebooks in our school for student use. All fundraisers take note!
As we head into the May long weekend, please take the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beauty of our community.
Stay safe and healthy,
Joan Sandberg
Principal
