I am pleased to announce that Ms. Chavez will be our Vice-Principal, beginning in September. This is a new role in our school, and it supports the CISVA desire to have teachers take on a formal leadership role in our schools, with the hope that they will one day consider becoming a Principal. Ms. Chavez will be busy as she continues to work her Master’s degree, maintains her classroom teaching duties and takes on some administrative roles within the school. I thank her for her willingness and commitment.

We are heading into the last week to support the RCAV Men’s Hostel. We are having a friendly competition to see which “buddy groups” can bring in the most items. We are collecting – toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, socks, gloves, toques, and shampoo. Items may be dropped off in the boxes in the front foyer of the school.

o   Book Donations Needed for Carnival Book Sale Fundraiser – We are excited to announce an upcoming Book Sale at this year’s School Carnival, and we need your help! Please consider donating the gently used books that your family has finished reading. We’re accepting a variety of books for all ages, including cookbooks, novels, children’s books, etc. This is a great opportunity to reduce your excess books at home. The Book Sale will take place during the carnival hours and all proceeds will go towards the school’s fundraising goals. Heading into the summer break, maybe your family will score fresh reading material. Book donations can be dropped off at the bin outside the school office from now until May 15. Thank you for supporting our school community!

o  Excel Martial Arts Fundraiser – will be here again this year from April 28 – May 8.  If you would like your child to participate, please fill out the attached form and return to the school with the $30 payment by Wednesday, April 16. We have copies at the school office.
