Welcome back and what to know

Dear Parents,

On Thursday, September 10th we will welcome students to the 2020/2021 School Year.

1. For those families who have decided to send their children back to school full time, they will come to school as follows on Thursday, September 10th:

  • Students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 whose family name begins with A to M – 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
  • Students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 whose family name begins with N to Z – 12:20 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.
  • Students in Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 whose family name begins with A to M – 8:55 to 11:25 a.m.
  • Students in Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 whose family name begins with N to Z – 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

This will allow the teachers to go over the safety protocols with students and hand out school supplies. Students should bring a snack, lunch is not needed.

Beginning Friday, September 11th:

  • Students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 will be in class from 8:45 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
  • Students in Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 will be in class from 8:55 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students should have all of their supplies labelled and bring a snack and lunch.

Students in Kindergarten will be on different schedule and you should refer to the email that will be sent out by Mrs. Ramogida.

2. Students will be expected to have their full uniform as of September 10th.

3. We will be sending out information regarding the PE uniform ordering during the week of September 14th. If students have the PE uniform, they should wear it to school on their PE days, beginning September 14th.

If they do not have the uniform, they may wear an “appropriate” tee shirt and shorts to school until their order arrives. Students will not be required to order QAS jogging pants and sweat shirts, these will be optional.

PE classes will not begin until September 14, so students should not wear PE strip to school before then.

4. Attached is a map indicating the entry/exit points for each class and students are asked to be at the entry point, on time for school.

5. Please see the attached “Health Check” information. Parents are expected to beware of the checklist and assess their children each day. A Health Check verification form must be completed each day and sent to school with the youngest child (one per family). This form will required each day in order for your children to be permitted entry to the school.

6. Families who have chosen the “Temporary Transition Option”, students will begin receiving assignments on Monday, September 21st. You will be contacted during the week of September 14th with further details on picking up resources for students and the contact time with the classroom teacher.

7. Please see the attached letter from the PEC regarded the Parent Participation program. All families are asked to complete the form and return it to the school.

Have a great long weekend and stay safe!
