School News
o Mother’s Day Mass – is this Friday, May 9th. We will honour Mary and all mothers, Grandmothers and Aunts.
o Student Led Conferences – are coming up next week on Thursday, May 15th. Last week you received a link from your child’s classroom teacher to book your conference time. Please note that the link will be closing on Tuesday, May 13th at 9 am. There is no school that day, you just come to your assigned time and students should be in full uniform.
o Lost and found – please check our lost and found on Thursday, May 15 to see if you are missing any of your items. Any items not picked up will be donated.
o SPCA Fair – Thank you to our awesome SPCA Club for putting on a super fun fair last week! Every class came to visit, and lots of families joined in too. We had games, snacks, and even special guests from the BC SPCA—thank you, Allison and Diane! We’re so proud to share that we raised $2,560 to help animals in need! Way to go QAS!
o Volunteer Hour Opportunity: The school is expecting delivery of 36 cubic yards of mulch to refresh the playground area. We are asking for volunteers on Saturday, May 10th at 8:30 a.m. until 12:30pm.
· Work will involve shoveling, raking, moving of materials and cleaning up of the playground/parking lot area. e
· If any volunteers have wheelbarrow, leveling rakes, shovels, old tarps – please make sure to bring along. We are looking to rent a skid steer – if any parents are able to operate, please reach out!

· Volunteers required- 10+ individual/families
· Hours provided 4 hrs per individual/family

o Parent Participation – Thank you to those families who have selected their preferences in OnVolunteers! There are still a number of families who have not done so. The deadline has been extended to May 15th. Instructions to select preferences can be found here: https://qasbc.ca/quick-links/participation-hours/
o Class Parents for the 2025-26 School Year – We are in need of volunteers for Class Parents for the 2025-26 SY for Grades 3 through 7. Please find attached what the Class Parent role entails. If you’re interested, please email [email protected] with your name and preferred grade.

Please submit or return the preorder form along with payment by Wednesday, May 21st.
Volunteers Needed! Many volunteers are needed to make this event a success. How to Volunteer:

o Carnival Class Baskets – We’re putting together exciting raffle baskets for the upcoming School Carnival, and we need your help! Each class will be creating a themed basket, and we’re asking for a small donation of $2 to $5 to help purchase items for each basket. Every contribution makes a big difference and helps make our raffle more fun for everyone! Please pay by cash by May 9th. Send the money in an envelope or Ziploc bag labelled clearly with your child’s name and grade, it can be given to the class teacher or school office. Thank you for your support!
Parish Information
o Cancelled-Friday Morning Coffee & Treats!-May 9th – Due to a special event planned by the pre-school, Coffee After Mass this Friday is cancelled. However, you can still join us for the school Mass at 9:00 AM. !
