On the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Patron Saint of our Archdiocese, happy feast day to all! As we face the challenges of COVID-19, we ask Mary to intercede for us.
Once again, I’d like to thank families for being extra cautious during these times and keeping their children home if they are not feeling up to par. This is greatly appreciated by all.
As we head into the Thanksgiving long weekend, I can say that it has been very exciting time for students and staff since the start of school. Let us just say that the general consensus is that we are happy to be back at school with friends and colleagues. Personally, I have enjoyed seeing the students having fun on the playground during recess times. The non-stop action is energizing.
Next Tuesday, we will welcome a number of students back to class. It will be good to see you again.
I hope that all families will have a good Thanksgiving and find some time to enjoy each other’s company, even if it must be in smaller groups.
Stay safe and God Bless,
Miss Sandberg
WALKATHON
This Friday is our annual walkathon. Students and Staff will be walking in “cohorts” and completing the walk with staggered leaving times. Unfortunately, we cannot have parents walk with the “cohorts” this year, due to COVID-19 and the Provincial Health Officer, WorkSafeBC and the BCCDC orders. If you are coming to watch, we ask that you do so at a safe distance. We are also bound by the orders to not have groups of 50 or more. So we cannot “congregate” at the park but must spread out. Physical distancing of 2m must also be observed.

SUPERVISORS NEEDED

STUDENT/PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, Oct. 22nd via Zoom from 9am to 5pm. Conference times are 10 minutes per child. The Conferences will focus on what the student is doing well in addition to goal setting. Since we value communication regarding student progress with parents, all are expected to attend. After attending a conference, should the parent or teacher feel the need to meet again, this can be arranged.
To register for a conference time, you will be sent a “Calendly” link by your child’s teacher. Simply click on this link and select a time slot. Please sign up each child separately with each teacher.
If you would like to meet with a specialty teacher, please email them directly to set that up. Staff emails are on the website under the Parent link.
Students will not attend classes on this day.
FOUNDATION SKILLS ASSESSMENT
Due to the delayed start of classes throughout the province, the Ministry of Education has decided that the Grades 4 and 7 Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) administration has been postponed (from October/November) and will now be conducted from January 18, 2021 to February 26, 2021.
