NEW HEALTH CHECK LIST…
Please see the new list of symptoms that is attached to this email. The PHO and BC Centre for Disease Control have given us not only an update on symptoms but further and clearer direction on when students should and should not be attending school. As always, parents must access their child daily for key symptoms of illness before sending them to school.
Thanks to all of you who are being so diligent with the daily health check.
WET WEATHER DAYS
With the multiple entry points for students around the school and the staggered start/finish times, drivers are asked to park their vehicles in the parking lot. There are no drop off areas.
Students should also come dressed for the weather. With rain, students need a jacket at the very least. Boots and umbrellas are also recommended. Our recess and lunch breaks, as well as our Kindergarten outdoor program are outdoors, rain or shine.
SOCCER
A reminder that soccer permission forms are due tomorrow. Students should give the forms to their classroom teacher. Practices start next week. We hope to see many Grade 4 to 7 boys and girls involved. Our coaching staff are looking forward to working with our athletes!
HOT FOODS MESSAGE
I’m pleased to announce that QAS Hot Foods program will be back up and running in the very near future. Although, it will look different, we will continue to offer meals to the students every Wednesday. Online ordering will still be offered through our online system, Munch A Lunch. Two most notable changes are that we will not be offering an AM recess snack nor will we be doing any of our in-house cooking. We will re-evaluate this for our second and third ordering sessions. I’ve been working on sourcing meal ideas from local eateries so that we can offer a variety on our menus. Pizza from Pizza Station will be offered weekly plus my goal is to have a second meal option each week as well, along with a sides option. I’m always open to ideas and suggestions, especially if you’re a local eatery business owner please reach out to me. Please watch for more info in the coming days. I’m in the final planning stages and hope to get ordering opened up in the coming days. I’m aiming to have lunch service begin October 14. Please be assured that health and safety is of outmost importance and my team and I will be very diligent with protective and sanitization practices. Any questions or suggestions please contact me.
