School Updates – February 9th, 2022

The All Saints Parish Education Committee is in need of someone to fulfill the role of Treasurer. “The role of the Treasurer in the parish or regional education committee is critical to the successful functioning of the Education Committee and ultimately to the successful functioning of the school”.

(CISVA Policy 117)

The duties include:

  • attending the monthly PEC meeting (during COVID-19 the meetings are held via Zoom) and reporting on the financials
  • preparing the preliminary and final budgets for the school. This is done with the collaboration, including the Pastor, Principal, Chairperson, Maintenance person and school bookkeeper
  • monitoring expenditures and receipts
  • monitoring school accounts
  • signing cheques for the school

“The role of the Treasurer is a critical one in the financial management of the school and as such must be filled by a person with formal accountancy designation and/or business administrative skills with direct experience in preparing and managing budgets, and undertaking financial analysis”.

(CISVA Policy 117)

If you are able and willing to take on this role, with the permission of Father Don, the school is offering parent participation incentives.

Catholic Schools Week…

All CISVA Schools will be celebrating this special week from February 14th to 16th (for students), until the 18th for staff. At QAS we are going to:

  • pray together as a school community each morning, led by the Grade 7 students.
  • have a class challenge Catholic trivia contest throughout the week. Questions will be answered by each class.

Each day will be a “dress down” day:

  • Monday, February 14 – Valentine’s Day – come in red, white or pink
  • Tuesday, February 15 – Team Day – show your spirit for your favourite team
  • Wednesday, February 16 – Olympic Celebration – wear your team Canada colours, or dress in your favourite sport outfit, touques, hats, etc.

A $1.00 donation for Catholic Charities, will cover the whole week.

Hot Dog Lunch

There is a Hot Dog lunch day this Monday, February 14th for those families that ordered this fundraiser.

Paint Night Fundraiser

Come and join the PAC for a fun evening of painting quotes on a sign, tray, or doormat with NakedPallet. This will be on Friday, March 4th, at 7:30pm at the All Saints Parish Centre. For just $75, you’ll be able to enjoy pizza, some snacks and your choice of one :

– two 14×14 framed wooden signs

– one 16×26 framed wooden sign

– one 12×20 wood tray

– one 24×26 coconut fibre doormat

No School

There is no school on Thursday, February 17th and Friday, February 18th for the Catholic Educators Conference.

Monday, February 21st is the BC Family Day holiday. Enjoy your extra-long weekend.
