Principals Message

I want to congratulate all our basketball players and teams on a very successful season! We witnessed exciting games, and our players really improved their skills. The Grade 7 Girls finished in 4^th place at the “Big 8”. Our Grade 6 Boys and Girls teams also participated in the “Big 8”, which means that for the first time ever, QAS had three teams competing in this tournament. Our Grade 5 teams show good potential for the future.

Thanks to our coaches who gave many hours of their time. Your dedication to our athletes is greatly appreciated: Ms. Abbinante, Ms. Tupchong, Mrs. Wong, Mr. Im, Mrs. Lamasan, Ms. Bevacqua, Mrs. Ogilvie, Mr. Waller, Mr. Tortora, Mrs. Epplette, Mrs. Tomic, Mr. Demare and Mr. Muro.

I wish all families a wonderful Spring Break. Have fun, rest up and enjoy the break!

School News

o   Re-Registration Packages –Completed packages are due back to the school office by Thursday, March 13^th. A late charge of $50 will be charged for packages received after that date.   If you know your child is not coming back to QAS, could you please email the office to let us know and return the
registration package.

o   Report Cards – are being sent home on Friday, March 15.  This is also the last day of school before Spring Break.  Students are dismissed at 12pm. 

o   Jump Rope for Heart – Our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart Event!  We will be starting on Monday, March 10^th and it’ll end on Friday, April 11^th Register on-line. Information is linked below (the date on the form is wrong) on how to register your child. Jump encourages kids to be active. It builds healthy habits, boosts school spirit and teaches social responsibility as kids fundraise for life-saving heart and stroke research. o   AGM Presentation– If you couldn’t make it the AGM last Wednesday, please find the slide presentation
attached.

o  Next PEC Meeting: – The next PEC meeting is Tuesday April 8, 2025, at 7pm in the school library. All parents are welcome to attend and observe the meeting.  If you have a topic you’d like to discuss at the meeting, please send the request in writing at least 7 business days before the meeting to [email protected].

o  AGM Attendance – Thank you to the families who attended the AGM on Wednesday March 5th in the school gym.  There were record numbers of attendance for this year’s meeting, thank you to all parents who were able to attend!   

Hot Lunch          

o   Term 3 for Hot Lunch – Munch-a-lunch will be opening for the last term on Wednesday, April 2 and closing on Wednesday, April 9.  Please see the attached newsletter from hot foods and note the dates of Track Meets and field trips.

Parish Information

o  Friday Morning Coffee & Treats!-March 14^th Join us for the school Mass at 9:00 AM this Friday, then head to the parish hall for coffee and great conversation—see you there!

o   Lenten Family Night – April 11^th – This Lent, we invite all school families to take part in a special evening of prayer, service, and community on Friday, April 11th.

o    Soup & Bun Dinner – 5:30 PM (Parish Hall) Stations of the Cross – 7:00 PM (Church) Mass to follow.  We need families to help in two special ways: Prepare & Serve Soup – To have at least 4-5 families to volunteer to make a simple vegetarian soup enough to serve 10 people and then serve the soup. Kids are welcome to help as well to serve the soup. Clean up after.

o    Lead the Stations of the Cross – Sign up to read the prayers and guide our community in reflection.
